Maddy returned her best friend's hug, grinning at her happily before looking at her fiance and the baby in his arms. She had to admit, the idea of it intimidated her more than she cared to admit outloud, especially in a group of their friends. Her family didn't have a lot of children in it and aside from Melanie, there weren't any children in her social circle either leaving her very unsure of how exactly a person was supposed to interact with a baby. It was much easier to just look at him than it was to be faced with the chance that he might cry in her arms, or squirm, or throw up on her. "I - I have never held a baby before," she confessed. "He might hate me, maybe it's just better if you hang on to him?"
Brandon laughed at Riley's joke, giving a nod in agreement. "He must. Though I'd like to think that he takes after me in all the best ways, too." Brody did seem to have been the perfect combination of all of his and Amber's best traits, though sometimes he swore that their son looked just like Amber, and other times he thought he saw a lot of himself in him too. It was going to be interesting to see how Brody grew up, he admitted, not just in terms of physical appearance but in terms of who he would become as a person. Brandon just hoped that he and Amber figured out what they were doing enough to make sure that their kid turned out better than they had. Not that he had any complaints now. "And how's married life treating you? Decided to stick with Tyler after all?" he teased, though he wasn't sure if there wasn't a small part of it that didn't still mean it.
Adam hesitated at her question. He wasn't sure how much he was supposed to be telling people about everything that he and Riley had discovered and discussed about their own situation. Not wanting to upset his wife by telling Amber something he shouldn't have, he opted to keep it as general as possible. "We'd like to have kids soon."
