Everett knew better than to believe Ellie, so he quickly shoved his camera into his bag and pulled her in, wrapping an arm around her shoulder and kissing the top of her head. "She'll cool down. She's just upset over the break up," he reasoned, even though he wasn't quite sure that was the case. Still, unsure how willing he was to decide one person was right and one was wrong in this situation, he opted to change the topic. "You want some coffee? My treat?" he suggested with a small smile. "I might even throw in some pastries," he added with a chuckle, trying to put his girlfriend in a better mood and avoid continuing an unpleasant conversation.

Ellie would have argued with him over whether or not she thought Kensi was ever going to calm down, or at least would have calmed down enough to have been willing to repair her friendship with her, but she had reached a point where she just didn't want to talk about the other girl anymore. As far as she was concerned, in that moment, she didn't have a relationship with Kensi anymore. She just wasn't convinced whether or not she was okay with that.
Nodding at Everett's suggestion of using coffee as a distraction, or what she figured was probably what was meant to be a distraction, she smiled softly at him. "Chocolate pastries," she corrected.
"Thank you," she said after a brief pause. "I'm sorry that you're in the middle of all of this."
