He had to admit, coming into this date he had no idea what to expect. He had thought of a dozen scenarios of how he thought that it could have gone but now, in retrospect, they all seemed wildly unrealistic. And laughable, really. She wasn't the sort of person that he imagined went home and played Dungeons and Dragons with her friends, nor did she seem to be a vapid model-type. In fact, she seemed to be a lot more normal than he was expecting, and a lot more endearing. After paying for their dinner and leading her outside of the restaurant, he realized he had forgotten about how uncomfortable he found this next part to be. Jeremy wasn't sure what he was supposed to do next, a fact that seemed to be reinforced by the fact that this had been a blind date to begin with, he turned to her and smiled.
"Thank you for agreeing to this very strange set-up," he told her. "Did you need to catch a cab home? Or are you walking? I'd be happy to help you get home." He felt like he was being ridiculously awkward and just decided to backtrack instead. "Or we can leave it here, if you'd rather."

Cassidy grinned back at him, feeling pretty great entirely about how the date had gone. He rambled a bit, standing there on the sidewalk and she grinned at him. She wasn't necessarily sure what she was supposed to do, so she shifted her weight a bit and tilted her head at him. "I had a good time," she nodded. "If you wanted to do it again sometime- I mean, it's okay if you don't. It's not like I'm going to tell either of our bosses if you don't. I just that had a nice time and I hope that you did too, so if you wanted to go out again sometime - with me - I would say yes." She realized that she had rambled too and blinked, squeezing her eyes shut and shaking her head. "You don't have to walk me home, I'm just going to stand right here and wait for the earth to swallow me whole. I actually don't even know why I'm still talking, it's like a compulsion. It won't stop."

Jeremy nodded at her, agreeing that despite the way that the date had been arranged, he was glad to have stepped outside of his comfort zone for the evening. "No, I had a good time too, I'd like to do it again if you wanted to. Except maybe this time you should leave me your number so I don't have to play telephone with my boss to get the message to you. Unless you don't have plans next weekend?" Jeremy had decided that suggesting that they go out again tomorrow to start checking things off of her list might have been too soon, besides, he justified, she probably already had plans, or at least had plans to cross some of those things off of her list with someone else.
Smiling at her comment about still talking, he realized that that particular trait seemed to be one they had in common. "I can walk you home," he offered. "Just lead the way and I can keep you company."

Cassidy smiled at him, shaking her head. "I'll tell you what, you can have my number and I'm free next weekend." She gestured for him to follow her. "I'm really not that far. I mean, technically it's not my apartment - but it is. When we moved from California, Amber signed a lease on this place, and so I moved in with her - just because it was easier and made more sense than her getting a two bedroom with no one in the second bedroom and me looking for a studio or something. But she moved in with Brandon not too long ago, but we still have the lease. So now I've got all of this space," she explained. "Which is weird. I've shared a room my entire life, you know? Six kids in a family, you kind of have to. And then when I was in California, I always had roommates or was living with someone. New York is the first time I've ever had a place to myself."
She continued to lead the way, pointing out a few things along the way. Like a spot where a homeless guy usually stayed that she liked to give a bagel to every Saturday when she ran errands and the bodega where the Haitian owner spoke Creole, and helped her practice her French whenever she stopped by to get last minute groceries. Before long, they were standing in front of her building. "This is it," she gestured, reaching into her bag for her key and taking one step up the stoop. She turned to him, tucking her hair behind her ear. "Do you want to come up?" She realized how forward that sounded and that it was directly against the set of rules Amber had given. "For coffee," she added in hastily before drawing in a breath and thinking for a moment. "I mean, I think I have coffee. If I don't have coffee i can run back to the bodega and get some coffee - I can even get decaf, since it's late. Even though I don't really understand decaf. At the very least, I know I have orange juice, but the kind without pulp."

Jeremy was sure that he had learned more about his boss' personal life in the last few hours with this woman than he had in the entire span of his career at Finn Industries, and he wasn't sure that it was necessarily a good thing. But, it did seem to work out to his benefit when she explained that she was now living in the apartment by herself. He supposed that on the first date he probably shouldn't have jumped immediately to the conclusion he had now made, but he had hoped that he wasn't the only one thinking it when she invited him upstairs for coffee, or orange juice. He nodded, "Sure. I am actually a big fan of coffee. Or orange juice. I'm pretty easy going when it comes to beverages."
He decided that it was probably a good time to stop talking about drinks. "If that's okay?"

Cassidy grinned at him, nodding and gesturing for him to follow her inside. She showed him into the apartment, flipping the lights on. "Well, this is it," she nodded, gesturing around. "I'll go see if I have coffee," she nodded as she pushed the door closed behind them. Before she stepped away though, she paused and, with just a split-second's worth of hesitation, she pushed herself up on her toes to brush her lips against his in a soft kiss. She pulled away with wide eyes and smiled softly. "Yeah, that was as nice as I thought it would be," she announced with a bright grin..

He had barely had time to look around the apartment, satisfying his curiosity of what her apartment would look like when he found her lips brush against his. Grinning at her, Jeremy hesitated for a brief second before deciding to take the initiative to kiss her back. There was a small voice in the back of his head telling him that this was probably not the best activity to be engaged in on a first date, let alone a blind date, but he had also decided to ignore the voice. Instead, he placed a hand on her cheek, deepening the kiss before pulling away for a second. "I'm sorry. Did you actually want to just have a cup of coffee, or juice, or whatever? I didn't mean to completely derail your plans if that's the case."

Cassidy laughed softly, shaking her head and pressing her lips back against his. Her hand found his and tugged him further into the apartment. "I don't really have a plan. I just didn't want to say good night yet," she admitted sheepishly. She tilted her chin up and kissed him again, this time a bit more slowly. She smiled softly up at him when she pulled back again, she let out a nervous laugh. "Plus, I actually don't even think I really have coffee," she muttered.

Jeremy smiled at her, "That's okay, I'm kind of preferring this right now anyway." He kissed her back again, pulling her closer to him. He had started to wonder whether or not it would be inappropriate to pull her down onto her own couch, or ask her for directions to her bedroom, but decided not to push his luck. So far he had zero complaints about the evening and he had no plans to ruin it by moving too quickly now.
