Cooper nodded, making a mental note to talk to the head sous chef at the hotel about making arrangements for their Thanksgiving plans. He liked Amber well enough, and according to his daughter she made the “best cookies ever,” but the woman was far from domestic and he knew that a big Thanksgiving meal for multiple people was quite the undertaking. One he was surprised that she even wanted to attempt, but he assumed that had something to do with her pregnancy.
“Yes, things are going really well with Madison,” he nodded with a smile. “She’s pretty incredible. Melanie adores her. Anyway, I’ll speak to her and see – but regardless, you can count on me and Melanie being there. Possibly with an emergency meal on hand.”

It wasn't that he didn't trust that Amber was capable of making a full Thanksgiving dinner for their friends. She had the determination to do it and he knew that she would try her best, but he also knew her well enough to know that there was a possibility that determination alone wasn't going to be enough to ensure that everything cooked properly. He wasn't sure what would be worse, having Amber put in all the time and effort to make a perfect Thanksgiving dinner and have it fail or having a backup plan in the first place.
Brandon nodded, "Great, Amber will be really happy to hear that. Well, not necessarily about the emergency meal but we can just keep that between us for now."

Cooper took a sip of his drink and nodded, "It can be our secret unless we absolutely need it." He didn't want to say he had a strong feeling that they very well might need it. He didn't say much more on the matter, and when their food arrived, he thanked their server before reaching for his fork. "Should make for an interesting holiday," he added before taking a bite before taking a moment to begin focusing on work again and the deal that he and Brandon still needed to discuss.
