Everyone seemed to have their own breaking points. For Brandon, that point was now. He had been trying to avoid the feelings that he knew had been bubbling below the surface for the last several months, but he had tried to remind himself that he wasn't the same person that he used to be anymore. There had been a time where he wouldn't have hesitated to have hit Eliot just for what he had said to Amber the first time they had all spent any time together. But he had a lot more responsibilities now, a lot more weighed on his actions. As the head of his own company now, he couldn't very well go around hitting people and expect it not to appear in the paper. But sometimes his temper seemed to get the best of him and he momentarily forgot about the negative consequences of his actions. He had barely been aware of his own actions, specifically letting go of Amber's hand, before he found himself throwing a punch at Eliot, connecting square in the jaw. "You have no idea how long I wanted to do that. If you ever say anything about Amber like that again, I won't hesitate to thoroughly make you pay for it."
Madison felt her jaw drop in surprise over what had just happened. She never in her life thought that she would be an observer to something like this and she didn't know how to react. She was ready to leave now, that much she was well aware of.

Never before had an event abruptly come to a halt so quickly. Riley watched it happen in almost slow motion and took a breath, glancing at Adam she sighed. "Sorry, sweetheart. It seems I'm going to have to work tonight," she warned him shortly after Brandon's fist connected with Eliot's jaw.
Eliot staggered back slightly, his own hand curling into a fist, but quickly, Cooper was in between them. "I think that's enough, don't you?" he advised sternly. He had to admit he was rather impressed with Brandon.
Amber's hand covered her mouth when Brandon's punch landed and she quickly reached out for his hand again, even as she watched Eliot scowl and wave over security for the event. When they approached Eliot, he nodded, gesturing to Brandon. "Right, well, I hope it's worth the assault charges, Finn," he spat out.

Adam frowned at Riley's announcement of needing to work, but part of him couldn't help but respect Brandon for finally having the nerve to do something that he was sure a lot of people had considered. From a legal standpoint, however, he would have advised him to refrain from actually following through.
Brandon nodded, "I think it was well worth it," he admitted. Maybe it was the adrenaline he felt coursing through his veins, but he couldn't help but feel rather pleased with himself. Not only had he been relieved to have finally acted on his rage toward Eliot, but he was glad that he was finally able to stand up for Amber in a way that he had been unable to do so before. Besides, with a great lawyer on his side and enough money, he was sure he could make any of the assault charges go away pretty quickly. Unfortunately, there were a lot of people in the room that he was sure weren't going to easily forget what had happened.

Riley frowned as the security guards arrived and Eliot started speaking with them, when they went to approach Brandon, she stepped in quickly. "Gentleman, I am Mr. Finn's attorney and while I'm sure Mr. Quinn is demanding that assault charges are pressed, I'd like to avoid creating a larger scene. So if Eliot here would like to file an official police report, my client and I would be more than willing to follow him down to the precinct to see if we can't get this all worked out." The security guards seemed to consider this and she nodded at them when they agreed. She turned to Brandon and shook her head. "He's going to press charges, they're going to want to process you and get a statement from you. I can have you out shortly afterwards, but it's going to happen - the most I can do is keep it from happening here in front of everyone. You're going to have to come with me down to the station, they probably won't ask for bail but Amber should come down anyway, just in case. I can get on the phone the second we're out the door and start working on getting these charges dismissed."
Amber frowned, turning her attention fully to Brandon. She frowned softly when she heard Riley mention a police precinct, she placed her hands gently on the sides of his face and looked up at him. "I know that that was for me, what you just did and I love you very much - but when we get home, we're going to have a talk about bad choices in front of witnesses and my stress levels." She nodded, leaning up to kiss him softly. "I guess we can start telling people I'm pregnant now."

In retrospect, had he been thinking clearly, the fact that Eliot was pressing charges might have caused him to react in a different way. Or at least he would have waited for an opportunity to have hit him in a different setting, one with a lot less people. Even now, all he could focus on was the relief he had felt at finally getting to react, and the hope that it at least caused some pain. After everything he had said about Amber, both this night and previously, Eliot deserved a lot more than just one little punch but the impending scene and gossip that was sure to follow weren't just going to effect him. If it would have been just himself involved, he might have made sure that Eliot had a real reason to press charges. But, as it were, the damage was already done.
Brandon looked down at Amber and smiled softly. Thankfully she seemed a lot less angry than she had the right to be. "I'm sorry," he admitted. "I know that this isn't the most ideal circumstance." He felt bad about causing any sort of scene, but he felt worse that because of things that had been said, Amber's moment to tell anyone about her pregnancy was going to be slightly tainted by this event. Oh well, he thought. It wouldn't have been them without a little bit of drama.
Turning his attention to Riley, he nodded his understanding. She continued to go above and beyond what they had agreed to her role being and he knew that he owed her for that endlessly. He made a mental note to find some way to thank her. In this particular situation, he knew that his best bet was going to be letting her handle as much of this situation as possible. Despite now being out of practice, it certainly wasn't the first time he had needed legal interference where the police were involved. "Just tell me what you need me to say and when you need me to say it. If possible, I'd like to avoid making a bigger deal out of it than necessary."
