Morgan smiled at her sister, tilting her head slightly. Thinking about what it might be like to ask Brody if things were different between them now, if they were together. After all, the way they'd left things had given every indication that things were at least a little different. Chewing on her lip, she had to admit she liked the idea of she and Brody together, granted she'd never been on a date before - with anyone. But she thought that with Brody, it would come easily. He was her best friend and being near him was second nature.
Unless he wasn't interested in that.
Instead she decided to focus on the cat. "It's been an interesting day," she nodded, reminding herself that she was grounded. "If it doesn't work out with Brody, I can become a crazy cat lady now that I'm going to have two with you and Einstein," she grinned teasingly.

Ellie shrugged, "That's very true. I mean, this kitten now gives me the perfect excuse to fully embrace all of my cattiness. Well, maybe not in the traditional sense of the word, but you know what I mean. I wonder what Mom would think if I asked for a glass of milk to be served in a saucer for myself... She might think I'm crazy. Or crazier than I already am." The truth was, a small part of Ellie actually felt a twinge of jealousy at the thought of her sister's new found relationship with Brody. It wasn't the she had ever thought about him in the same way as her sister had, but seeing her so happy was making her feel the same way that she used to when Morgan got to play with a toy that Ellie had wanted.
"Hey," she said softly, looking over at her sister. "Don't let all of this stuff with Dad get to you. He's just insanely overprotective sometimes, you know that. I'm sure he'll have forgotten about the whole thing tomorrow and everything will go back to normal. Well, obviously things will change for you and Brody, but you and Dad will be back to normal at least. If not, I'll just distract him with the cat."

Morgan smiled at her sister. "Mom doesn't think you're crazy," she laughed. "But she might if you ask for milk in a saucer. You should try it out and see." Shaking her head, she looked at Ellie, "What about you, El? Any boys at school catch your eye?" she grinned, nudging her sister teasingly. She'd spotted Ellie talking to both William Blye and Everett Quinn at Brody's party the other night, and while Morgan disliked one and barely knew the other, she thought that her sister deserved a great guy.

She laughed, "No, no boys for this girl. At least not at the moment. Not everybody has a Brody. Some of us are perfectly content to have an Einstein." Except for the fact that it wasn't entirely true. She would have loved to have had her own Brody Finn at this point, but unfortunately he had been an only child. Besides, she added to herself, it would have been a little strange if both she and her sister had gone after members of the same family. There just hadn't really been many other boys their age when she was growing up, at least not any that had ever caught Ellie's attention. Part of her kept thinking that she just needed to get outside of their small little group of friends and meet someone who was completely unlike the rest of them. Cosmo had an article on it called "Why Women Love Bad Boys" or something and Ellie had found each point they had outlined to resonate with her.
"Anyway," she tried to change the subject, not sure if her sister would entirely get her desire to find a not-necessarily-so-nice boy. "I think I'm going to give the milk and saucer thing for a try," she joked. "Though, I have to admit, I'm really excited for us to finally have a pet."

Morgan grinned softly at her sister, sensing that she wanted to change the subject, she let it go. "It's great! We've never really had one before." There had been a goldfish from a Carnival that had died the next day and Morgan had spent a decent amount of her early childhood in love with Brody Finn's dog before it had passed away. She'd never had a pet of her own, she wondered if that was why Ellie had become part cat - to accommodate that part desire of Morgan's - and why Morgan was sometimes part excitable puppy.
"We should get him some really great collars," she nodded. "You're the fashionable one, so I put you in charge of that."
