Deftly, Brody pulled his shirt off over his head, pressing Melanie down to the bed softly. All of his protests were being stifled by kisses and nimble hands as they worked their way across her body. But while he knew that he wouldn't say another word about it to her, he kept feeling like there was just something off about their timing. Sleeping with Morgan had been something different - it had been lingerie hidden under her clothes and intimate moments in stationary elevators. This felt dirtier, almost. This was sex in a suite full of people, barely away from prying eyes, with a woman that wasn't the same one that he had recently taken on a date. And at the same time, it was exhilarating and he didn't want to stop.

Morgan grinned at Jamie, nodding her head enthusiastically. "It really is," she admitted when it came to dating a friend. She took a sip of her drink again, peering around the party. Her brow furrowed a bit when she realized she'd completely lost track of Brody. "Have you seen..." she trailed off for a moment and frowned slightly, wondering where he'd gone off to. She turned her attention back to Jamie. "We can have auditions for girls, like a reality show. Where they have to pass mine and Ellie's approval before they can date you," she teased, even as her eyes still glanced around the party.
Will smirked at Ellie easily, shaking his head. "If I gave you a hint, what would the fun be in that? Surprises are better, don't you think?"

Jamie knew that she was looking around for Brody, but at the moment he was sure that Morgan had already sunk her claws in, so to speak. He smiled softly at her at the idea of holding auditions for a date and shook his head. "That's really okay," he dismissed the idea with a small laugh. "But if you thought that you might ever want to go out sometime?" He wasn't sure why he had just decided to spit it out, and he especially wasn't sure what she was going to say, but he decided to just give it a try anyway.
Ellie laughed softly and shook her head at him. "Normally I hate surprises." Polishing off the rest of her drink she set her empty cup on the nearest surface before turning back to him with a smile. She wasn't sure what had given her a sudden boldness, whether it was the drink she had just finished off or the knowledge that her sister had already gone through whatever was about to happen, but she opted to embrace it. "But I suppose I can be patient long enough for you to show me."

Morgan looked up at Jamie with wide eyes when he suggested they go out. She was pretty sure that going on a date with Jamie would make both of their mother’s dreams come true. But in all the time she’d known the boy standing in front of her, she’d simply never seen him that way, nor had she thought that he saw her that way either. Then again, she’d been just as surprised to find that Brody liked her back, too. “Jamie,” she said softly, reaching to place her hand on his shoulder. “That’s really very sweet,” she nodded. “But I’m sorry, I’m sort of seeing Brody right now,” she admitted, chewing on her lip. “And I really like him…and you know that I love you and you’re one of my favorite people in the whole world, but I think you should go out with a girl that feels the way about you that I do about Brody – because everyone deserves that.” She felt horrible. Looking up at him, she tilted her head. “C’mon, you can do like a million times better than me anyway, couldn’t you?” she asked. In all honesty, she thought Brody could do a million times better too, and she assumed he’d realize that when he left for college and met a new girl, but for now she would take what she could get.
Will smirked at Ellie. It wasn’t that he didn’t find Ellie Tyler to be attractive – he did. Tons of guys in school did. Will liked to think that, contrary to what other’s said, he loved women – and that was his excuse not to tie himself down to just one – because he appreciated them all equally. Ellie had always been someone he’d enjoyed flirting with, teasing, even. But he’d never been sure he could convince her to come home with him, at her willingness though, he smirked, hooking his arm around her waist and pulling her in. “Let’s get out of here then.”

He knew that she didn't intend for it to come across as condescending, but he bristled a little at her rejection. At least until she started telling him that he deserved better. Melanie's reminder that they were better than everyone else popped into his head suddenly and he shook it away with the thought that maybe his sister and Morgan Tyler were more similar than they realized. "I'm sorry," he quickly apologized, "I didn't mean - rather what I meant to say is that maybe we could go out sometime to a movie or something, as friends. Like we used to." It had actually been a while since they had spent any time together, just the two of them, and even all of the plotting with Melanie aside, he knew that he really did miss those opportunities.
"But I'm happy for you and Brody. That's great." He wasn't sure how convinced he was of the latter part, especially when he could turn it all back around. Brody wasn't good enough for Morgan, considering what he was sure that Brody was up to at the moment. But on the same side of the coin, he wasn't good enough for his sister either, unless she wanted him to be. Melanie had some sort of weird power when it came to that.
Ellie smiled at him, doing her best to make it seem as though her heart didn't feel as though it was pounding out of her chest and that her palms didn't feel like they were starting to get clammy. It wasn't a big deal, she tried to remind herself. Even if she slept with him, despite having no idea how that entire situation really worked, it was just sex. Morgan had made it through unscathed and seemed to even be happy about it, and maybe she had even done it more than once by now. She told herself that she wasn't doing it just as a form of sibling rivalry, or she wasn't doing it just because she didn't want to be the twin left behind, but she wasn't sure how much weight that really held. She gave Will a nod of agreement, "Sure, I'll just send a quick message to my sister to let her know that Brody should take her home."

Will nodded, reaching to take Ellie’s hand and lead her away from the party. He had had enough of socializing anyway and was much more interested in bringing Ellie home. His parents were in London for the weekend, creating the perfect circumstances for him to take her to bed. “Let’s go then,” he nodded.
Morgan beamed up at Jamie, nodding. “I’d like that, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to assume…” she blushed. “Now I feel conceited,” she admitted before shaking her head at him. “But yeah, I’d love for us to hang out soon,” she agreed, hugging him tightly. She pulled away with a grin before she felt her cell phone vibrate. Glancing down at it, she read the message from her sister, who she realized was now mingled somewhere in the large crowd at the party. “Ellie left to go somewhere else,” she muttered. “She said Brody should take me home,” she looked up at Jamie and smiled softly. “I’m going to go find him to let him know, but I’ll be right back” she grinned, leaning up and kissing him on the cheek before wandering off to find Brody.
Melanie was already back in her costume, fixing her hair in the mirror with a smirk. “That was fun, thanks,” she told him over her shoulder casually. “But I should get back out there and play hostess,” she said with a nod. It seemed though, just as she was reaching for the door someone knocked on it. She pulled it open and almost couldn’t contain a broad smile. “Yes?”
“Oh, I was just looking for Brody,” Morgan mumbled, not realizing the door she’d been knocking on was Melanie’s bedroom.
“Yeah,” Melanie nodded, pushing the door all the way open. “He’s here and we’re done.” She watched the redhead for a moment and tsked softly. “Oh, sweetheart, you shouldn’t frown. You’ll get wrinkles.”

After typing out a quick text message to her sister, Ellie let Will take her and hand and lead her out of the party. The second that she found herself outside of that room, away from the judgment that she was sure that her sister was feeling, she felt herself relax slightly. It wasn't a big deal, she kept reminding herself.
Jamie had shaken his head at Morgan to dismiss her apology, not only because it wasn't necessary but because she had been right when she assumed that he meant something else entirely. "I'll be here," he let her know, wondering if she was going to catch them in the act.
Even after it all, Brody still had the impression that Melanie had only bothered trying to have sex with him now because it satisfied some hunger she had, something that went beyond a carnal desire. She had really wasted no time in pulling her costume back on and so he opted to follow suit. He had just pulled his shirt back over his head when he heard a knock on the door. Every muscle in his body froze with the fear and expectation of who could have possibly been on the other side. His worst fears were realized when he heard Morgan's voice responding to Melanie's question. Thankful that all of his clothing was back in place by the time the door fully swung open, he gave Morgan an innocent smile and walked toward the door. "Hey," he greeted her.
Turning to Melanie he let the smile drop for a second. "You should go play hostess," he told the dark haired woman.

Melanie smirked at Brody, winking at him and nodding. "Okay, lover, I'll catch you later. And thanks again. That was fun." She turned her attention back to Morgan, lips twisting into a grin. "He may need a minute," she added. "I tend to have that effect." And with that Melanie slipped from the room, off in search of her brother. Finding Jamie, she placed a hand on his shoulder. "That was fun."
Morgan stayed rooted in her spot. She wasn't stupid. Taking one look at Brody behind the closed door of Melanie's bedroom and the state of the bed, she knew what had happened even without the brunette saying anything. "I was just...Ellie...left and she thought...I didn't mean to...I'm going to go."

Brody did his best to ignore the taunts that Melanie threw out before finally excusing herself from her own bedroom. This was the part that he certainly hadn't given any through to. Not only in terms of having to confront the situation with Morgan, but also the fact that there wasn't really anything he could say to convince her that it wasn't what it looked like. "Morgan," he said, reaching out to grab her hand and keep her from walking away suddenly. "I mean - it's not like we were exclusive or anything, right?" He tried to give her a small smile, but the look on her face was making it hard for him to muster up the ability to do so. "You're still my best friend, no matter what. That was just ... it doesn't matter. We don't have to talk about it." But that was a lie, he knew. They were going to have to talk about it eventually, no matter how difficult it seemed.
Jamie shook his head softly at his sister, "I'm sure it was. Morgan just went off in that direction, I'm assuming she found you and Brody?"

Melanie grinned at her brother and nodded. "A few minutes earlier and it would have been a better show," she lamented. "How did that go for you, by the way? Seems like she'll probably be seeking out some comfort too."
Morgan didn't want to look up at him. She already felt as though she was blinking back tears and didn't want to let him see her cry. When he spoke, she winced a bit. Somehow the matter of fact way he told her they hadn't been exclusive and would always be friends stung even more. "Yeah, it's fine," she said softly. "We're not...it's fine," she nodded. "I'm going to go."

Jamie couldn't imagine what it would have been like to have been in Morgan's shoes at that moment, but at the same time he hadn't seen her reemerge yet, so maybe it was possible that things hadn't gone as badly as he was expecting them to. When Melanie asked about how things had gone on his end of it all, he gave a little shrug. "They didn't really go anywhere. She's so infatuated with Brody that it was impossible to get her to really pay attention to much else. But who knows, maybe you're right. Maybe with him out of the picture she'd be more willing to take me up on my offer." His own thoughts were still conflicted about the whole thing, if he was being honest. As much as he knew that his sister was enjoying tormenting Morgan, he couldn't help but feel guilty for his role in it, however small it was currently.
Brody nodded, "Okay." He knew that she was lying about being fine, and she was even lying about the fact that they were fine, but when it came down to it, she was providing him with the opportunity to go back to how things were when they were just friends with a lot of sexual tension during study sessions. "Do you want me to take you home since Ellie left already?"

Morgan looked down and shook her head, hands reaching to pull the mask off of her face that Ellie had spent quite a bit of time fixing her make up around and adjusting. “No, you stay,” she said softly. She took a breath and continued blinking back tears, refusing to look up at him. “Have a good time, I just…” Frowning, she took a step back from him and turned to leave, not wanting him to see just how upset she was.
On her way towards the door, she spotted Jamie and decided she’d at least go tell him she was leaving so that he didn’t think she’d gone off to find Brody and had completely forgotten about coming back to continue hanging out with her friend.
Melanie observed her brother for a moment before spotting Morgan over her shoulder; she waited until she felt the redhead was within earshot. “Don’t worry, Jamie. I’m sure that it’ll all work out, poor heartbroken little Morgan will come to you for comfort and you can have your fun with her too. In the meantime, I appreciate you keeping her busy tonight. It helped a lot.”

There wasn't anything else that Brody felt like he could say to Morgan to make the situation any less awkward or uncomfortable. He did, however, follow her out of Melanie's bedroom and back to the rest of the party, uncertain of what other choices he really had in this circumstance.
Jamie knew exactly what his sister was playing at and so he winced a little at her words. "Melanie," he said softly, hoping to stop her from carrying on. He wasn't sure what else he could say in protest, nor what he could say in defense of anyone involved in all of this. Instead, he just chose to stay quiet, seemingly interested in the pattern that had been woven into the carpet and the facets of his shoes.
Brody had observed the brief interchange with a frown, stepping over to run any necessary interference. "Melanie, should we get you a drink?" he offered, hoping that he could at least give Morgan a minute.

Melanie’s lips twitched into a smile when Brody walked over and asked if she needed a drink. She smirked a bit, wrapping her arms around him. “Are you offering?” She smiled up at him, lifting an eyebrow as she pressed herself against Brody easily, making sure that before Morgan Tyler exited the party, that she got a nice eyeful.
Morgan looked away from Brody and Melanie, her entire chest constricting as the brunette cozied up to Brody. She wished her sister was still there. Not wanting to look at Jamie either, “I just was going to tell you I was going home,” she informed him softly. “I didn’t want you to think I would just leave without saying goodbye to a friend.” She let out a dry laugh that turned into a soft sob somewhere in the middle and decided to make for the exit.

Jamie nodded understandingly before Morgan turned and made for the door. He hesitated for just a second, looking over at his sister and Brody, with Melanie still hanging on to the older boy. With a soft sigh, he decided to follow Morgan, catching up with her just after she had made it out of his sister's suite. "Hey," he said, hoping to grab her attention. "I'm really sorry about her, and about all of that."
Brody frowned down at Melanie, "That wasn't very nice," he chided. Deciding that if she was going to act this way when it suited her, then he was going to do the same. And now, with Morgan gone, it suited him just fine to respond by wrapping his arms around her waist and pulling her firmly to him. "Now should we get you that drink and get on with the party or were there more people you wanted to upset first?"
